Professor Peng Liresearch group in Fudan University in China, andProfessor Omar Farha's group at Northwestern University in USA is seeking for joint postdoctoral research fellow.

Research Areas

The research group in Fudan University mainly focuses on the design and synthesis of new functional porous materials (such as Metal-organic Framework materials (MOF), Hydrogen-bonded organic framework materials (HOF), Covalent-organic framework materials (COF), etc.), for applications in gas adsorption and separation, chiral separation, and biocatalysis, to provide a new solution for the efficient separation and purification of important chemical raw materials, as well as the green synthesis of key intermediates of natural drugs. In addition, the research team is also committed to the development of nano-scale porous materials as a new type of nanomedicines for rapid and accurate diagnosis and therapy of diseases. Specific research directions include:

(1)Design, synthesis and biocatalytic application of novel functional ordered hierarchical mesoporous bioreactors.

(2)Design and synthesis of novel functional hydrogen bond organic framework materials (HOF) for gas adsorption and separation, chiral separation, environmental pollution detection, and catalysis

(3)Theronostic nanomedicine based on functional biocomposites

Minimum Qualifications

(1)Successful candidates will have a Ph.D at well-known universities in China or overseas and have a background in chemistry, chemical engineering, material sciences, or biochemistry.

(2)Preferred, but not limited research experiences include porous materials, supramolecular chemistry, organic chemistry, and synthetic biology.

(3)Passionate and enthusiasm for scientific research and with a clear career development plan.

Working Conditions

Professor Peng Li research group in Fudan University has a complete platform of organic and inorganic synthesis and characterization. The team has 9 faculty members, including 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 1 associate researcher and 2 senior engineers. The discipline covers organic chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, Structural Chemistry. Now it has a laboratory of 200 square meters in accordance with international first-class standards, and the research funding is sufficient. The team has maintained good cooperative relations with well-known universities, research institutes and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. With the goal of development of new drugs and theronstics nanomedicines, a research team with professional skills and professional characteristics has been established.

Cooperation-Research Descriptions

The cooperation adopts a cooperative training of Fudan University and Northwestern University for one year at each university. In the first year, the work was mainly focused on material synthesis and related characteristics at Fudan University. In the second year, the trainee was working as a visiting scholar in Farha research group at Northwestern University to explore the application of materials.

Benefits

(1)The annual salary is about 200,000 RMB, and the research team will also provide competitive additional compensation, allowances and benefits. The winners of the Shanghai Super-Postdocs plan or national Initiative Postdocs Supporting Program have a maximum annual salary of 400,000 RMB.

(2)During the post-doctoral fellow program, an apartment is provided by the school and help their children to have schools.
